About My Practice

I have been a psychotherapist for over 30 years, with the majority of  time spent in private practice treating adults and older adolescents in individual, couple and group psychotherapy.  My style is fairly eclectic using techniques and interventions tailored to specific issues and client need.  I attempt to help clients explore their feelings and life situations in depth so that they can make better choices and decisions for themselves.  My wish is that that this will allow them to experience their authentic selves and to move forward with their lives in a productive, empowering and more satisfying way.  I often recommend reading material and occasionally exercises to  assist with various mental health issues.  Clients often express that they find my interactive, empathic style very helpful to them.

I have practiced in mental health centers, adoption agencies and psychiatric hospitals prior to beginning my private practice full time.  I am a graduate of Miami University, Oxford, Ohio and the New york University Graduate School of Social Work.  I have done additional training in addictions, family and couples therapy, group therapy and personality disorders.  My practice consists of approximately 50% individual counseling and 50% group, family and couples counseling.  I do both short and long term therapy depending on a client’s needs and specific treatment plan.
